Woman injured on Broad Street may have exited moving vehicle

An Elizabethton woman jumped from a moving vehicle on Broad Street because of an argument with her boyfriend.

On Tuesday morning, Katlyn Cannon jumped from her boyfriend’s, Harley Thomas’, Chevrolet pickup as he was driving south down Broad Street.

Thomas and Cannon made different statements to the Elizabethton Police Department, but both confirmed that there was an argument, and that Cannon jumped.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED AT 10:02 a.m.:

Authorities say a woman may have been injured after exiting a moving vehicle on Broad Street early on Monday morning.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a call of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. After arriving on the scene, however, they discovered that the woman had actually been injured by leaving a moving pickup truck, which was reportedly being driven by her boyfriend.
