Eleven years and it still doesn’t get old.
Jason Witten relishes the one day each year he gets to return to his former stomping ground, the field named after his grandfather Dave Rider, and give back to kids who share the same dreams and aspirations he had many years ago.
With the home side of the stadium filled to the brim with onlookers — and a record number of 1,500 kids engaging in two sessions of football drills — the Dallas Cowboys All-Pro tight end’s 11th annual SCORE Foundation Youth Football Camp did the trick.
“It’s an honor to come back,” Witten said Saturday. “It’s been a great weekend for me and I am in the situation I am today because so many encouraged me to chase a dream. I want to do the same for these kids.
