Jessica Danielle Hilbert and Christopher Lee Tester were united in marriage during a candlelight ceremony at Southside Free Will Baptist Church in Elizabethton on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. The Rev. Steve Burleson and the Rev. Wayne Carr officiated the double-ring rites.
The bride is the daughter of Joey and Lisa Hilbert, 123 Wilson Ave., Elizabethton. She is the granddaughter of Wanda Nave, Elizabethton, the late Claude and Bessie Nave, the late Frank and Velma Hilbert and the late Ike and Eva Crowe.
The groom is the son of Randy and Lorie Tester, 2746 Highway 19E, Elizabethton. He is the grandson of Shirley Rupard of Pennsylvania, Jim Stanton, Elizabethton, and the late Ralph and Edna Tester.
Music was provided by pianist, Wayne Carr and Dustin Boyce. Selections included Marry Me, Parents Prayer and Only God Could Love You More, sang by Wayne and Sarah Carr, and God Gave Me You sang by Jeff Woods.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a cathedral-length A-line gown of white satin featuring a sweetheart bodice covered in beaded lace, illusion lace cap sleeves and back, and side drapes and pick ups. The back of the gown was graced with a hand sewn baby blue heart made from her late grandfather’s shirt.
For her headpiece, she chose a cathedral-length veil with a pear and lace embellished edge.
Her bouquet was a mixture of wildflowers and yellow roses wrapped in burlap and lace holding a pendant from her late grandmother.
Holly Hilbert attended the bride as maid of honor with Amanda Rhea serving as matron of honor. Each was attired in a tea-length dress of hot pink shantung featuring cap sleeves. They carried small wildflower bouquets wrapped in burlap.
Bridesmaids were Torie Brown, Rachel Fine and Sandy VanGerpen. They were attired identically to the honor attendants.
Flower girls were Natalie Brown, Anna VanGerpen and Olivia VanGerpen.
Ring bearers were Jacob Brown and Isaiah VanGerpen.
Matthew VanGerpen served the groom as best man.
Groomsmen were Josh Lilly, Jordan Lambert, Brian Rhea and Jimmie Brown.
Ushers were Jeff Woods and Carl Tester.
The wedding was directed by Laura Beth Fletcher.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Southside Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
After a honeymoon in Destin, Fla., the couple are residing at 510 Parkway Blvd., Elizabethton.
