Stunned by an early punch to the jaw, Happy Valley got off the canvas and knocked out upset-minded Sullivan East on Friday night at Warrior Hill with a 54-21 Three Rivers Conference victory to keep their playoff hopes alive on senior night.

Junior tailback Phillip Garland ran for 189 yards and five touchdowns and the Warriors passing game turned in a fine performance with 143 yards and two more scores as senior quarterback Tyler Marlowe completed 10 of 13 on the night.

“Hopefully this will give us momentum to carry into next weeks game against North,” Marlowe said. “They are a good ballclub. I was nervous going into tonight, being senior night, but it felt great to get this win, especially keeping playoffs alive.”
