Warriors can’t hold lead, miss out on playoffs

KINGSPORT—When opportunity to clinch a playoff berth arose for the Happy Valley Warriors Friday night, it was the Sullivan North Raiders’ defense who crushed those aspirations.

Sullivan North overcame a 16-point first-quarter deficit and deflated Happy Valley 22-16 in a Three Rivers Conference finale inside Benny Compton Field.

“I just thought our kids were very, very resilient,” Raiders’ head coach Robbie Norris said. “We didn’t play particularly good, but we did play very hard.”
