Unicoi County will long remember Coach Charlie Baxter’s career win number 1,000 against Happy Valley on Tuesday. The Warriors won’t forget what followed after their 7-3 loss to the Blue Devils at Cannon-Gouge Park.

Immediately after shaking hands, HV took to the practice field and went through a spirited workout. Coach Caleb Moore touched on the game and what followed afterward.

“We made some mental mistakes in the game that cost us and that was the frustrating part,” said Moore. “Anybody one through six can win on any given night in our league. That makes coming to the park fun. Tonight Hunter threw us a good game but we left 11 runners on over the final four innings. It’s hard to beat anybody doing that but especially a good team like Unicoi County. So we worked on some things after the game.”
