Vines lands state tennis award

Among Tennessee junior tennis players in 2012, no one in the state made a bigger impact to the sport than 14-year-old Elizabethton resident Danielle Vines.
One of the best tennis players in the nation for her age group, Vines has been named Tennessee Junior Tennis Player of the Year and will be honored at a banquet in Nashville on Feb. 9
Other than maybe Jason Witten, no athlete in Carter County in 2012 had a bigger mark on sports in the area than did Vines. To date, Vines has seven Southern Designated “Bullfrog” titles (six singles, one doubles), three Southern Closed titles, (two singles, one doubles), two National Segment titles, two National Open Titles and one Runner Up, and one USTA “Silver Ball”.
