Round one of the 9-10 year-old Cal Ripken League baseball tournament played out under gray skies on Thursday evening, and in a marathon game one Friendship Hyundai outlasted Blue Circle Market 18-17.
The contest took nearly three hours to complete.
In the nightcap, Valley Forge Auction captured a 12-1 decision over the E-Town Stars behind 9-year-old lefty Carson Peters, who tossed a four-inning no-hitter that was called on the 10-run rule.
β€œIt was a great team effort,” Peters said. β€œI felt good out there and I just wanted to throw strikes. Overall I felt good, but I did walk a few, though.”
