Shonna Weddle, David Arwood, Kim Hollis and Sabrina Baker are the Valley Forge Elementary staff members who worked to complete the grant application for the State Department of Education focus school grant.

Interim Director of Carter County Schools Kevin Ward said the grant would provide funding for a reading coach for the school, 20 iPads for small group differential learning and pay for costs associated with staff development.

Ward said five schools in the Carter County school system applied for the grant, and that Valley Forge was the only school in the system to receive the funding.
