Valentine guides Hampton to 1-A championship

AFTON — How fitting that a “Valentine” would help lead Hampton to a heart-felt Region 1-A championship.
Stanley Valentine’s 15 points and 10 rebounds were instrumental in their 56-50 win over Cloudland on Monday night at Chuckey-Doak Middle School.
The game was tied 12 all after one quarter of play, but Valentine’s bucket with 3:03 before halftime put the Bulldogs in front to stay at 20-17. The sophomore sensation admitted he got excited seeing all the blue and white throughout the stands.
