The United Way of Elizabethton/Carter County has been chosen to receive a portion of the proceeds from the Taste of Carter County.

The United Way provides funding and support to eight local non-profit agencies and services. Agencies supported by the United Way are Adult Day Services, American Red Cross, Assistance and Resource Ministries, Boys and Girls Club of Elizabethton, Contact Ministries, Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center, Seqouyah Council Boy Scouts and UETHDA Neighborhood Service Center.

“The money from the Taste of Carter County will be put toward the 2014 campaign goal,” said United Way Director Debbie Guy. “This a great opportunity for the United Way to increase our visibility in the community and to raise funds to help our agencies.”

Carter County Bank President Dale Fair said the bank has supported a variety of local events for the past 70 years.
