Dale Fair, Carter County Bank president and former Carter County mayor, will be the 2013 campaign chair. Fair said he was sure that the United Way could meet its goal for the second year in a row.

“It takes money to support the non-profit agencies that depend on the United Way,” Fair said. “That is why we are going to go for two. It is real easy to go for one. In football, it is real easy to kick the extra point but the hardest two-and-a-half yards is running for the extra two points. We are going to go two years in a row and meet our goal again.”

Fair said for the United Way to meet the goal again this year all the fundraising sectors involved would have to “step it up.”
