For two Mountain City women, Wednesday was a day of “terrible twos.”

Each was arrested by two different agencies on two different charges in two different states.

On Wednesday afternoon, Becky Louise Williams, 38, 466 Red Brush Road, and Tabitha Ashley Price, 19, 306 Clyde Lewis Lane, were arrested by officers with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and Damascus, Va., Police Department.

In the mid-morning, the JCSD received a report that a woman was seen taking money from a cash register at A to Z Market & Grill at 7131 Highway 91 North in Mountain City.

The store’s close proximity to the Virginia border, however, allowed for the assistance of the DPD. According to Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece, once the call had gone out that the suspects’ vehicle was driving north, toward Virginia, DPD officers knew that vehicle was headed towards them.
