Class AAA powerhouse Science Hill hammered the Cyclones on 8-0 in non-conference action at Kermit Tipton Stadium.

But taking a shot to the chin will hopefully be a positive for Elizabethton, when it returns to Class AA play in the Three Rivers Conference.

“We came with what we had,” Elizabethton coach Bill McClay said. “We only had 15 players. We lost two starters last night, and one last Friday.

“We had another one sick tonight. During the first half we actually handled it pretty well.”

The Hilltoppers (9-3-2) led 3-0 at the break.
