Three Cloudland seniors will vie for Homecoming Queen crown

Three seniors at Cloudland High School will vie for the Homecoming Queen crown this evening during the homecoming game pitting the Highlanders against the visiting Huskies of North Greene High School.

In addition to the senior class, the other classes — seventh through 11th — field candidates who raise money. The top money-raisers in each class will become members of the court and crowned as homecoming princesses.

This year’s candidates for Homecoming Queen are:

Jesica Miller

Jesica Miller

• Jesica Miller, the daughter of Tammy Miller and Rick Collins. She will be escorted by Alex Heaton, the son of Robert and Sherry Heaton.

• Harlee Whittemore, the daughter of Sherrie and Kevin Whittemore. She will be escorted by Mason Carnett, the son of Dale and Carla Carnett.

Alannah Estes

• Alannah Estes, the daughter of Lela and Stacey Hughes. She will be escorted by Asley Haynes, the son of James “Dee” Haynes and Candi English.

A parade through the village of Roan Mountain will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday prior to the big game. The parade culminates a week of special activities designed to boost school spirit.
