Students at the Early Learning Center enjoyed a Thanksgiving lunch on Monday.

Students in the Elizabethton City School’s Early Learning Center celebrated Thanksgiving a few days early by having a special lunch they helped to prepare.

ELC teacher Susan Dugger said the lunch was part of the students’ lesson on the Native Americans and the Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving. The students carried the Thanksgiving spirit throughout the meal by bringing in food to prepare and share with their classmates.

The students’ collaborative spirit put together a Thanksgiving lunch including turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, a roll and dessert. The students were served the meal by ELC teachers and staff along with parent volunteers at Lynn Valley Baptist Church.

The students took time out from enjoying the fruits of their goodwill to share what they were thankful for this year.
