Unaka’s magic at Claude Holsclaw Field continued on Wednesday with another remarkable come-from-behind victory. This was one of many enjoyed by the Creekers since the field opened in 2003.
The Rangers defeated University High 10-7, the same school they upset in 2003 to get their first conference win on April 1.
The Rangers fell behind 7-0 after two innings, leaving many to think that the game was over. But not two of us old codgers.
I was seated in the pressbox beside Keith Blevins, the father of head coach Tee Blevins, who was running the scoreboard. He and I didn’t have those thoughts. We watched our sons play the opening game at Claude Holsclaw Field in 2003. And since then, we’ve witnessed some magical moments.
