T.A. Dugger runners fare well at state meet

T.A. Dugger cross country coach Andrew Gouge was smiling ear to ear on Monday.

He had no complaints after his teams’ performances at the Tennessee State Middle School Championships last Saturday at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville.

“The boys were 24th last year, and 14th this year, so that was really cool to see,” Gouge said. “The girls’ side, they did well. I think they had a little bit more trouble with the traffic, getting through the congestion on the course than most of the guys did at least. I was proud of them.

“Everybody did great. It was probably about the best performance we’ve had in the three years we’ve been going, just all-around.”
