Sycamore Shoals will host WVAL Christmas Art Show

8:48 am | November 26, 2012

The annual Christmas Art Show at Sycamore Shoals Historic Area will start with a meet-the-artist reception Sunday, Dec. 2, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The show is sponsored by the Watauga Valley Art League with Sycamore Shoals Historic Park as host to both the League art show and decorated wreaths. The wreaths will replace the Christmas tree display of past years. The public is invited to the reception to enjoy the artwork, wreaths, concert harp music by Jaime Johnson and refreshments.

The show will remain in place through Jan. 3. Artwork by about 40 League artists will be on display weekdays and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The park is located at 1651 W. Elk Ave., Elizabethton. Traditionally this is a beautiful show of art representing various media and styles. The show also provides an opportunity to purchase gifts for the season since most of the artwork is for sale.
