Survivor Charity Odom gives voice to ovarian cancer awareness
Medical experts call ovarian cancer a “silent killer,” but Elizabethton resident Charity Odom is raising her voice to promote public awareness about this disease.

Charity Odom is dedicated to raising awareness about ovarian cancer after she beat her own case of this “silent killer.” The medical field currently has no reliable screenings to detect this cancer in its early stages.
Charity Odom, dressed in an outfit prominently showcasing teal, the official color designated to ovarian cancer in the same way that pink is reserved for breast cancer, spoke about her own experience with ovarian cancer and her reasons for wanting to elevate awareness about this particular type of cancer.
“My main goal is to make people aware that September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month,” Odom said.
