An old proverb says “Those who wish to sing always find a song.”

Cousins Zoe Grindstaff and Sydney Jenkins always have a song to sing, whether it be at church, at school, or just around the house when they are doing chores or studying.

“It just comes naturally,” said Sydney, a fifth-grader at Harold McCormick School, who recalls making her mother laugh when as a little girl she sang. “I can’t ever remember when I didn’t like to sing,” she said.

Both she and Zoe are serious about their singing — serious enough to perfect it through voice lessons with Ivy Blair of the Blair Academy for the Arts.
Zoe, a sixth-grader at T.A. Dugger Junior High School, sings often in church. Both also take piano lessons from Blair.
