Spectators began arriving around 5 p.m. to enjoy hot apple cider and hot chocolate from Bonnie Kate Cafe and the Friends of Sycamore Shoals. Pre-lighting entertainment was provided by Miss Watauga Valley Brittany Kyte, the Elizabethton High School Choral Group and a hand-bell choir from Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Nursing Home.

EHS Choral Group Director Debbie Gouge was recognized for her continued participation in the tree lighting.
