Three Rivers Conference poker table, but Brooke Simmons proved to be a tricky dealer.
Simmons went 4-for-4 at the plate and pitched a shuout through five inning to spearhead Happy Valley to a 12-7 triumph over the Lady Golden Raiders in softball league play at Warrior Hill on Thursday night.
For a team plagued with injuries, the win capped off a recent upswing of momentum for the squad — according to HVHS skipper Mike Dorsey.
“They’re really coming around,” Dorsey said about his team. “They did a great job tonight and did exactly what I knew they could do, and what they could’ve been doing all season long. We’re starting to grow more as a team.”
