BAILEYTON — Hampton controlled both ends of the floor in the second half to pull away from North Greene and take home a 54-36 league victory that brings the Bulldogs level at 1-1 in the conference.
With the Huskies still looking for their first conference win, neither team could separate itself from the other over the course of the opening half. But in the second half, Hampton dictated the game both offensively and defensively to pull away.
“This was a big conference win on the road,” said coach Ned Smith, whose Bulldogs are now 13-6 overall. “They (North Greene) are playing well. They shot real well, especially early. They shot the lights out of it early. They missed some shots late. We rebounded the ball. I thought that was the difference, not giving them second shots. Our big kids played real well tonight.”
