On the table was the delay in establishing an International Residential Code, International Building Code and International Property Maintenance Code resolution.

The Carter County Commission delayed action on the resolution during its November meeting based on certification tests that remain to be taken.

County Planning Director Chris Schuettler presented a list of employees and the inspection disciplines in which they have received training, and also went over the certifications his staff lacks.

“Right now we need a commercial plumbing and commercial and residential mechanical, and then we have all the disciplines covered,” said Schuettler.

He told the committee on Tuesday that the next exam for the mechanical discipline is scheduled for Dec. 19 and the final certification exam would be held in January.
