One day.

No time for Disney.

No time for Myrtle Beach.

And precious little time for Pigeon Forge.

Snow days, concussions and differentiated pay dominated the day during the Carter County School Board workshop Tuesday evening.

Carter County Schools Director Kevin Ward told board members the school system has a single day remaining to use in the event of snow. After that day is gone, and if more snow causes more cancellations, those missed days would be added to the end of the school year.

And that one day isn’t during the originally scheduled spring break week.

“There were five spring break days originally scheduled into the calendar, and we have taken each one of those spring break days,” Ward said.

Ward presented a revised 2013-2014 district calendar to those present at the workshop.
