Sangid sizzles to first-round 64

He recently inspired a good friend to win a major area golf tournament, and now he is trying win a crown jewel of the Food City Amateur Tour he has won before.
Bryan Sangid, the 2004 winner of the Carter County Bank East Tennessee Amateur Golf Tournament, started off the prestigious event on Friday with an impressive 64 and led by three strokes over Carlson Cox.
The former Science Hill standout is no stranger to winning big amateur events, but he definitely inspired a good friend of his to win last month at the Tillinghast Invitational in Johnson City.
