Rough outing for Unaka baseball

Unaka’s baseball team absorbed a beating on Thursday, but seemed to depart Claude Holtsclaw Field with the proper perspective.
Class AAA Daniel Boone pounded the Class A Rangers 15-1 in six innings.
“It’s good competition,” Unaka coach Tee Blevins said. “They can pull out what we need to work on, and that’s why we schedule teams like this.”
Boone left-hander Daniel Lowe hurled a four-hitter in going the distance. He carried a shutout into the sixth, striking out seven with two walks.
