Robb beats Johnson City with two-hitter

Hein Robb made sure his first win of 2013 mattered most.

With the best performance of his young professional career, the South Africa native pulled Elizabethton from a seven-game losing skid Wednesday night with an Appalachian League rarity.

Thanks to Robb’s complete-game, two-hit shutout, the Twins returned to the win column with a much-needed 3-0 victory over Johnson City at Joe O’Brien Field.

“That was enjoyable to watch,” said Elizabethton manager Ray Smith. “And we needed an injection, a shot in the arm!”
