Registration deadline nears for election

Carter County residents have until Oct. 8 to register to vote for the November election that includes presidential, congressional and local races.

The November general election will include races for Elizabethton, Watauga, Tennessee and United States offices. Residents throughout Elizabethton and Carter County can vote for president, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Tennessee Senate and Tennessee House of Representatives.
