Reader urges Christians to vote in election

To the editor;

Christians need to early vote from Oc. 17 through Nov. 1 or vote on Election Day Nov. 6. Some Christians stated they aren’t going to vote because they disagree with both presidential candidates. It appears these people are looking for a perfect leader, who doesn’t exist except in the person of Jesus.

There are also important Senate and House races that will determine who will pass the laws of America – including laws that will infringe on our religious freedoms, or laws that will legalize abominations. The president nominates the Supreme Court Justices and other judges, and these are confirmed by the U.S. Senate. It’s not just the election of a president that’s at stake.

Pastor Perry Stone said, “You may not like anyone on the ballot, but at least vote for those who best represent values that line up with the Bible and are best for America.” If Christians vote for evil leaders they could help elect their own oppressors, and help bring down the wrath and judgment of God on America!

The choice is between a bad person with some principles (Mitt Romney) and an evil person with no principles (President Obama). Obama is evil because Obama supports taxpayer funding of abortion … and is the first president to support same-sex marriage and is disrespectful to and less willing to stand with Israel than Mitt Romney. Obama has also increased the persecution of Christians by his support of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Historian David Barton who has studied all the presidents in the history of America said, “The hostility of President Obama toward Biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous American president!”

Christians don’t selfishly vote for whoever promises the most stuff. Christians vote for the candidate most pleasing to God who will cause God to send the least judgment upon our country. God will hold all Americans accountable for the evil actions of our political leaders just as He did when King David disobeyed God and did a census. God killed thousands of his people. Dr. John Mcternan said when President Obama said our policy is to divide Jerusalem, the city of Joplin, Mo., was destroyed by a tornado. When President Obama declared June Homosexual Pride Month a drought began, resulting in the highest price for corn and soybeans in history. Dr. Mcternan said if Obama continues to do evil he believes large parts of America could burn including large cities and be turned into a desert. President Obama said when he didn’t know he was being recorded that he would “have more flexibility” after the election. There’s ever reason to believe Obama will do even greater evil after the election!

Your vote is important as presidential and local elections have often been close. Candidates need to buy their ads at the Elizabethton STAR, because local elections are often the closest races. In 1994 Truman Clark defeated Dexter Lunceford for county executive by only four votes. Voting is our duty to our country. Voting our Christian faith, convictions and principles is part of our duty to God and can save lives!
