The Class A state playoff picture is a confusing question mark at best, but Unaka’s football team is still in the running for postseason action.

Yet first things first. The Rangers (3-6, 2-3) shoot for their third straight victory on Friday night , visiting Cosby (1-8, 1-4) at Virgil Ball Stadium.

“It’s like I tell the kids, we’ve got to get prepared to go down there and play,” Unaka coach Steve McKinney said before Wednesday’s practice. “Because Cosby , you never want to end the season on a loss, and they’re going to go all-out. You never know what to expect when you get down there.

“They may change a lot of stuff while we are even down there. They may start throwing it more.”
