Rangers rally to best Cosby

Unaka’s baseball squad gave Tee Blevins a warm welcome on a cold and blustery day by rallying from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Cosby 7-3 Wednesday at Holsclaw Field — earning the new coach his first victory.
Rangers leadoff man Jacob Hill was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in, and Danny Bales was lights out in late relief as he struck out six of the seven batters he faced in relief of starter Thomas Hardin.
“The first few innings it was a little bit of nerves,” said Blevins after his debut. “We had some first -game jitters, but once we relaxed we started hitting the ball. The hitters were all out in front of the pitcher early on.
“Once we started waiting back, we started hitting the ball hard.”
