Public hearing set in Nashville for gas pipeline9:09 am | January 8, 2013
NASHVILLE (AP) — A public hearing will be held in Nashville for residents to comment on a plan by Piedmont Natural Gas to build a gas pipeline through a state natural area.
The hearing, planned for Tuesday evening at the Ellington Agricultural Center, will center on the utility’s request to build the 14-mile line from Antioch to Belle Meade, which would cut through Radnor Lake State Natural Area.
WSMV reports that Piedmont has said that if approved, the construction of the pipeline through Radnor Lake would be done in a manner to minimize the disturbance of the surface of the park.
The public is invited to comment on the utility’s request for a state water quality permit.
