Before power was cut to the Carter County Recycling Center, video was captured of men the Elizabethton Police Department said it believes were involved in an attempted burglary on May 20. image008

The EPD is hoping the public can help identify the men.

“Two individuals were dropped off by a third individual in what appears to be a Ford Econoline van,” EPD Investigator Todd Hamm said. “The two then forced entry into the recycling center, disabled the electricity, and attempted to steal parts to a skid steer loader.”

Once the power was disabled, the theft could not be completed, Hamm said.

Anyone with information may call the tips line at 542-7274 or Hamm’s desk at 297-9002.
