Police fear missing Johnson City woman’s body was dumped at lake

A Johnson City missing person case has transformed into a recovery mission at Carter County’s Butler Memorial Bridge. 

The Johnson City Police Department began searching for 28-year-old Vonda Berry Marshall Donaldson Sunday.

JCPD Capt. Mike Street said Donaldson’s family last heard from her on Saturday at 11:20 p.m. Donaldson had gone to a wedding and then went to her Antioch Road apartment, where she was last known to be, Street said.

“As investigators began interviewing witnesses, the investigation revealed that Ms. Donaldson was possibly the victim of a homicide,” the JCPD said in a press release.
