Wilma Dean Nidiffer Hoffman, age 71, of Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late John and Georgia Meyers Nidiffer.
Mrs. Hoffman graduated from Unaka High School in 1959 and retired from Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank. She was a member of First Church of Brethren in Bristol.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, David Hoffman, of the home; one daughter, Starr Honeycutt and her husband, Darrell; two sons, Jeff Peters and his wife, Kitty; Anthony Peters and his wife, Tammy; four step-daughters, Judi Johnson and her husband, Danny; Karen Arcaro and her significant other, Jerry Barden; Kay Williamson and her husband, Jerry; Dee Cook and her significant other, Joel Black; five grandchildren, Joy Henry, Kris Richardson, Matthew Peters, Laura Baird and Cory Jones; three great-grandchildren, Mindy Harold, Seth Henry and Berkley Jones; 14 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Donley Nidiffer, Gary Nidiffer, William Nidiffer and Rick Nidiffer; two sisters, Sheila Nidiffer and Shirley Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Robert Wallace officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Loren Harris. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Blountville. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Barden, Adam Henry, Chris Richardson, Jason Johnson, Matthew Peters, Cory Jones, Tim Smith and Matthew Baird. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at noon on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
