Ted C. Smith, 75, Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn.

He was a native of Butler and the son of the late Walter R. and Ruby Reece Smith.

Ted is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rose Lewis Smith; children, Craig Smith, Johnson City, Melissa Smith, Knoxville, and Bryan Smith, Birmingham, Ala.; and a brother, Larry Smith, Butler.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. David Reagan, Dr. Patrick McMillan, Dr. Louis Modica, Amedysis caregiver, Carman, the staff at the VAMC Oncology and Vanderbilt Medical Center Oncology. The family deeply appreciates the loving care and support from family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Smith will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, November 30, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Rev. James D. Lewis and Dr. Ron Murray officiating. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. A committal and interment service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 3, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by Boone Dam VFW Post #4933. Pallbearers will be Dr. David Reagan, Dr. Toby Smith, Jim Brown, Clayton Brown, James Earl McEwen, Roy Burchette, Craig Smith and Bryan Smith. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Fountain City United Methodist Church, 212 Hotel Road, Knoxville, TN 37918; Salvation Army, 204 W.
