Stephen Ray Burwick, 57, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2013, after a battle with brain cancer.
Even in his passing, Steve is still giving. He wanted his body to be donated to the ETSU Quillen School of Medicine. His prayer was that his body could be used to find a cure.
Steve is survived by his wife, Deborah Davenport Burwick, his daughter and son-in-law, April and Chris Chatman, and two grandsons, Jesse and Marshall Chatman, all of Elizabethton; his mother, Dorris Hathaway of Elizabethton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chester and Mary Lou Davenport of Elizabethton; a sister, Lorana Pariti of Venezuela; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Robyn and Sam Bowers of Elizabethton, Ivonne and Luis Reyes of New Jersey and Monica and Luis Carlos Salas of Venezuela; three brothers, Matthew Burwick of Venezuela, Cliff Burwick of Mt. Juliet, and Lloyd Burwick of New Jersey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kyle and Peggy Burwick of North Carolina and Mark and Marlis Burwick of Venezuela; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
Steve was an active member of our community, having served on several committees, and was always involved in clubs and groups around our area. He was a member of the Elizabethton Alliance Church for 20 years. He will be intensely missed by those who loved him.

Services to celebrate the life of Steve Burwick will be held Saturday, March 2, at Elizabethton Alliance Church. Feel free to stop by between 2 and 4 p.m. as loved ones gather. The service will be held at 4 p.m.
