Robert A. Tester

Robert Alex Tester, 50, of Johnson City passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at his residence.
A native of Ashland, Ohio, he lived in Carter County for a number of years.
Until he became disabled, he was employed as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Tester.
Survivors include his mother, May Bain; a brother, Billy Tester, of Ashland, Ohio; a sister, Terri Tester, of Mansfield, Ohio; his fiancee, Kathy Slaughter; and several cousins.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, in the Fairview Cemetery, Hampton. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at noon Monday, will be Tommy Wilkerson, Lee Wilkerson, Troy Cook, John Perry, David Tester, Jerry Tester, Chad Alkire, Antonio Sanchez, Greg Muth, Troy Berry, Dray Whittington and Ron Welty. Honorary pallbearer will be Charlie Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Betty Berry, 418 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643, to help defray funeral expenses.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at noon Monday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be emailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
