Paulette Bowman, 61, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 4, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Clark Wilson and Frances “Cot” Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Dean Bowman, and a brother, Ricky Wilson.
Mrs. Bowman was a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation and of Fingerhut. She also worked as a cook at Keenburg Elementary School. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and loved to read and crochet. She was a graduate of Unaka High School.
Survivors include one daughter, Shana Burrow and husband Anthony, Elizabethton; two sons, Jeffery Bowman and Michael Bowman and wife Beth, all of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Sarah O’Dell, Cody Bowman, Michaela Bowman, Zoe Burrow and Keyla Lyons; one great-grandson, Noah Lyons; a special aunt, Helen Egli, Elizabethton; and a special friend, Kathy Dussault, Elizabethton.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bowman will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 7, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Dean Smith and Rev. Robert Howard officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. Music will be under the direction of Amy Moore and Pat Presnell. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, at Colbaugh Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Bowman, Phillip Reece, David Ferguson, Wayne Peeks, Jack Hamilton and Harol Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Burrow, friends and neighbors and members of Grace Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession.
