Nathaniel “Nate” Alexander, 53, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Alexander was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He had worked in a cotton mill for the past 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewitt Morris, and his mother, Martha Johnson, and by several brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Johnson Alexander, of the home; sons, Basil Baker and Rodney Wagoner of Salisbury, N.C.; daughters, Shana Wagoner, Salisbury, N.C., and Lisa Johnson, of the home; five grandchildren; his brothers, Frankie (Gwen) Alexander, Taylorsville, N.C., Tommy Alexander and wife Dorothy, Rodney Krider and wife Cynthia and Thomas Rabb, all of Salisbury, N.C., Joe Alexander and wife Julette, Atlanta, Ga., Rodney Hague and wife Amber and Frank Revel and wife Valeria, Elizabethton; sisters, Rena Boose, Brooklyn, N.Y., Margaret Norton, Julia (Ann), Robin, Nancy Krider and husband Tyrone, Salisbury, N.C., Valarie Washington and husband James, Granite Quarry; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Denver and Rosa Johnson of Tennessee. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Graveside services for Mr. Alexander will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the Highland Cemetery with the Rev. Edward Johnson officiating.
