Mildred Pauline Williams Boyd, 87, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Hermitage Health Center, following an extended illness.
Ms. Boyd was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Samuel Webb and Lorina Vandeventer Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther F. Boyd; two sisters, Edith Kyte and Myrtle Hyder; and a brother, Fonce Williams.
Ms. Boyd was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Paul Boyd and wife Sandra Kay, Elizabethton, and Samuel R. Boyd, Butler, Tenn.; a daughter, Norma Johnson, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Natalie Seabolt, Nicole Boyd, Angela Henderson and Christopher Lynn Boyd; four great-grandchildren, Tiffany Richardson, Jesse Richardson, A.J. Boyd and Dylan Seabolt; and a special nephew, Kim Styles. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Ms. Boyd will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at the residence of a son, Edward Paul Boyd, at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, in the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kim Styles, Terry Oliver, Gail Oliver, Grant Hardin, Dean Robinson, Mark Church, Noel Church, Jerry Williams, Hobie Hyder, Estel Williams and Doug Smalling. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Cole, Mack Collins, A.B. Grindstaff and Keith Church. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.
