Matthew Ernest Bailey, 24, Johnson City, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, at his residence.
He was born October 6, 1988 in Miami, Fla., to Ernest Bailey Jr. and Jeanne Haase Bailey.
In 2011, Mr. Bailey graduated from ETSU with a B.S. degree in Nursing. He was currently attending James H. Quillen College of Medicine as a second-year student. He attended the Elizabethton Alliance Church.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest E. Bailey Sr. of Saluda, S.C., and Ruth Freeman Foster of Union, S.C., and his paternal grandfather, Ernest S. Haase of Bloomington, Minn.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Karla Arwood Bailey; his mother, Jeanne (Pat) Bailey Sims; brother, David Bailey and wife Cathy of St. Paul, Minn.; sister, April Baker and husband Alan, Greensboro, N.C.; nephews, Alex and Christopher Bailey; grandmother, Bernice Haase of Bloomington, Minn.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and critters.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Matthew Ernest Bailey will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, December 14, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, with Pastor Louie O’Bourke officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. John Bunn. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
