Mae Haun Honeycutt, 83, Bluff City, died peacefully at her residence Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.
A native of Yancey County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Peter Lafayette and Ada Ledford Haun. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William B. Honeycutt; her sisters: Willie Mae, Burleigh, Estella, also her brothers: Ralph, Paul, Gus, Brownlow, Harry and Fate.
She is survived by Gail West, Lucy and George Fortner, Dean and wife Shirley, Billy and wife Lisa, Phillip and wife Debbie and Cynthia Tester. Also survived by a brother: Jack Haun. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive, including a special grandson who is now serving in Afghanistan.
It was her wishes to be cremated and a private service will be held. Mom’s children expresses our undying gratitude to Melissa and Teresa of Amedysis Hospice.
