Linda Carol McNeal Queen, 69, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Della Johnson McNeal.
Mrs. Queen was a homemaker and a member of Roan Street Freewill Baptist Church, where she had served as Sunday School Teacher and as the Activities Director of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Grover Queen, of the home; three daughters, Gail Oaks and husband Mark, Elizabethton, Jan Gouge and husband Reverend Tim Gouge, Elizabethton, and Carla Rickus and husband John, Bluff City; one son, Grover Allen Queen Jr. and wife Linda, Greensburg, Ky.; four grandsons, Matthew Gouge, Elizabethton, Taylor Rickus, Johnson City, Brandon Rickus, Bluff City, and Justin Queen, Greensburg, Ky.; one great-grandson, Braxton Rickus, Johnson City; and all of her special friends of Loveland Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tenn.
The funeral service for Mrs. Queen will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Tim Gouge and Rev. Oliver Wolfenbarger officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at the home of a daughter, Jan Gouge, 113 Manning Street, Elizabethton, at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Queen, Gordon Queen, David Queen, Gail Whistine, members of Roan Street Freewill Baptist Church and Allen Johnson.
