Kenneth Kenner Burk, 80, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at his residence.
A native of Kingsport, he was a son of the late Richard and Annie Joyce Burk.
Mr. Burk was retired from the Federal Government. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Burk was a member of the Milligan Free Will Baptist Church. He was a Gideon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tootsie Burk, and a brother, Johnny Burk.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Ellis Burk; a step-son, Donald Kelley, Johnson City; his sisters, Dorothy Perry, Kingsport, Nancy Herman, Florence Shell, Brookie Lyons and Barbara Sams, all of Elizabethton; his brothers, Andy and George Burk, both of Texas, and Pete Burk, Elizabethton; a special cousin, Kenny Ray Burk, Morristown; a special friend, Pastor Mark Street; and his special pet dog, Sandy.
Graveside services for Mr. Burk will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 21, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Mark Street officiating. Interment will follow the service. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
