James Loyd Dugger, 59, 510 Whaleytown Road, Butler, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

Mr. Dugger was a native of Johnson County. He was a former electrician and was formerly employed at Shoun Lumber Company. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Loyd was preceded in death by his father, Billy Loyd Dugger, and a step-brother, Cecil Atwood.

Survivors include a son, Keith Dugger and wife Lisa, Sevierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Rita Laymon and husband Paul, Sevierville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Taylor Laymon and Connor Laymon; his mother and step-father, Pearl Atwood Richardson and husband Paul, Butler; two step-brothers, Jeff Atwood, Elizabethton, and Denny Atwood, Peoria, Ill.; and two step-sisters, Arizona Miller, Johnson City, and Pam Crain, Saltville, Va.

Funeral services for Mr. Dugger will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Junior Dugger officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Robinson, Eugene Swift, Kenny McQueen, Jerry McFall, Greg Manness, D.W. Reece, Johnny Campbell, John Ward and Otis Griffey. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home It was his wish to be cremated. Condolences to the Dugger family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
