Mrs. Hannah Nave Myers Fair, 83, of Elizabethton, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Jimmy Mifflin Nave Sr. and Vada Texie Grindstaff Nave. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Teddy Ray Myers; a son, Robert Lee Myers Sr.; four brothers, Jimmy Mifflin Nave Jr., Andrew Johnson Nave, Marvin Shafter Nave and Nicholas D. Nave; and a sister, Mary Lou Nave.
Mrs. Fair was retired from Carter County Bank as a bookkeeper and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred N. Fair, of the home; one son, Phillip Ray Myers and wife Deborah, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Susan Hannah Elizabeth Myers Chapman, Robert Lee Myers Jr., Samuel Ray Myers and Sarah LeAnne Myers; one step-son, Johnny Fair; one step-grandson, Shawn Fair and wife Holly, and step great-granddaughter, Haley Fair; step-great-grandchildren, Stacy Fair and Tracey Johnson, and their children; four brothers, Ronnie Nave, Elizabethton, Albert Dudley Nave, Washington State, Jesse James Nave of Texas and Dizzy Dean Nave of Georgia; and four sisters, Nancy Sue White of Florida, Doris Lee Grills, Kingsport, Dorothy Vee Watts, Johnson City, and Melba Roark, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Fair will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Jeremy Rhoton officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sarah LeAnne Myers. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Buckles Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
