Georgia Maxine Lance Western, 59, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24, 2012.
Georgia was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., on March 13, 1953 to the late Elbert Ganard Lance and Margie Clementine Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Johnson.
After finishing her education she later became a caregiver to patients in their homes. Georgia enjoyed spending her free time gardening and canning food, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Lance Smith of Hartville, Ky.; son, Mark Western of Johnson City, Tenn.; sister, Charlotte Marie Deloch of Elizabethton, Tenn.; brothers, Eddie J. Lance of Elizabethton, Tenn., Ganard Lance of Crossville, Tenn., Shermand Lance of Elizabethton, Tenn., Michael Lance of Johnson City, Tenn., James Lance of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Tommy Lance of Johnson City, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Timothy and Kimberly Hopson, Kristina Berry and Christopher Berry, all of Johnson City, Tenn.
Visitation for Georgia Maxine Lance Western will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 29, with services following visitation at 3 p.m. at Snyder’s Memorial Gardens in Gray, Tenn.
